Good questions, straight answers

Pricing and payment

How much will my plumbing job cost?

Every job gets a fixed written price before any work begins, and the quote is free because the call out fee is $0. If you decline the price, you owe nothing.

Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or public holidays?

No. We price the job the same way regardless of when you call, so there are no overtime rates, no weekend surcharges and no after-hours loading hidden in the invoice. The number on the written quote is the number on the final invoice, every time.

Availability and emergencies

How quickly can you get to a plumbing emergency?

A licensed plumber answers day and night and gives you an honest arrival window when you call. If water is going where it should not, turning off the water meter is the most useful thing you can do while you wait.

What counts as a genuine emergency?

An overflowing toilet that will not stop, a burst pipe flooding a room, a gas smell anywhere in the house, or a hot water system dumping water through a ceiling. If you are unsure, ring anyway and describe it. We will tell you honestly whether it needs us tonight or whether it can safely wait for a standard appointment. If a gas smell is involved, our emergency plumbing team treats it as urgent every time.

Licensing and services

Are your plumbers licensed and insured?

Every plumber on the team is fully licensed and insured under licence #275278C, and the compliance certificates your job generates arrive with the invoice without you needing to ask.

What plumbing services do you cover?

Burst pipes, gas leaks and overflowing toilets through to drains, hot water systems, bathrooms, kitchens, leak detection, backflow testing and scheduled maintenance. Every service page on the site explains what the job involves and how we approach it. The four hubs, covering general plumbing, drainage, hot water and emergencies, are the quickest way to find the page for your specific job.

Plumbing in this particular corner of Hornsby Shire

Why do drains here block so often?

Heavy eucalypt canopy and the Berowra Valley bushland edge mean tree roots constantly find the cracked joints of the clay sewer lines laid during the 1967-to-1980s subdivision. A recurring blockage is a root mass regrowing into a failing joint. That is why our drainage team confirms what is happening with a camera inspection before recommending a permanent fix, rather than clearing the same root mass every summer.

Can old clay drains be fixed without digging up the yard?

Often, yes. Pipe relining seals a cracked clay line from the inside, which matters on steep ridge blocks where trenching through gardens, retaining walls and sandstone is slow and destructive. We will say plainly when a re-lay is the more honest answer.

My hot water system is as old as the house. Repair or replace?

If the tank itself is leaking, rusting or original to a 1970s or 1980s build, replacement is usually the wiser spend. Failed valves, elements and thermostats are routinely worth repairing. We test the unit, explain what failed and price both paths. With so many long-held owner-occupied homes running original or second-generation units, this is one of the most common decisions locals face, and our hot water repair and replacement pages walk through it in detail.

Coverage and getting started

Do you service the suburbs around here?

Yes, we work across Thornleigh, Cherrybrook, Normanhurst, Hornsby and Pennant Hills, with detailed local knowledge for each rather than commuting in blind. Same fixed pricing, same licensing, same lifetime backing on workmanship. Each adjoining suburb has its own page with that area's housing stock and plumbing quirks, for example Plumber Thornleigh or Plumber Pennant Hills.

Still have a question?

The answers above cover the common ground, but houses here have spent decades collecting oddities: original fittings behind renovation layers, clay pipes under tiered gardens, tanks that predate the current owners.

Ring (02) 9072 0504 and speak straight to a licensed plumber, day or night. The call out fee is $0, the price goes on paper before a tool comes off the van, and every repair is backed by our Lifetime Labour Warranty.
