Running a CCTV camera down a drain to find the fault

One build era, one ageing schedule

Built in a single wave

Cherrybrook grew out of orchard and rural land through the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, and at the last census over 80% of dwellings were large detached project-style brick-veneer homes on generous blocks. That single-era build means the plumbing ages on a shared schedule.

Tanks failing together

Hot water units fitted during the original build-out are now well past their service life and giving up across these long-held family homes at much the same time.

Old gas, old drains

Gas was reticulated as the suburb developed, so original fittings are decades old, while the mature trees shading streets near Greenway Park and The Lakes of Cherrybrook have had thirty-odd years to find every drain joint.
A mass of tree roots pulled out of a blocked drain

A ridge suburb with sloping blocks

The suburb sits high on a ridge at about 185 metres elevation, and many blocks slope down into the gullies that lead toward Berowra Valley National Park. Those long downhill runs put real demands on drain fall, and a pipe laid with too little slope will hold water and collect debris for its whole life.

Storms do the testing. When a summer thunderstorm hits this elevated catchment, stormwater lines on big landscaped lots can be pushed past their capacity, so an autumn drain check before the season turns is cheap insurance.

Good questions, straight answers

Questions Cherrybrook locals ask

Why do drains in this suburb keep blocking with tree roots?

The big detached blocks carry mature street trees and established gardens whose roots seek out ageing 1980s-90s drain lines, so we clear the blockage, camera-check the pipe and talk honestly about relining if roots keep returning.

Do you charge a call out fee to come to my home?

No, the call out fee is $0, and you receive one fixed written price before any work begins, which stays the same on weekends and after hours.

Is my hot water system worth repairing if it is original to the house?

Units fitted during the 1980s-90s build-out have run for decades beyond what any tank was built to deliver, so we test the components first and only recommend replacement when a repair cannot reliably last.

Can you attend on weekends and public holidays?

Yes, licensed plumbers answer the phone day and night, every day of the year, and after-hours jobs are priced the same way as weekday work.
